Good website design doesn't happen overnight - not even in Lanarkshire!
There are a few things we need to do before getting your website up and running. The most important part of the process (for us anyway) is our initial consultation with you. From our discussion, we would hope to get an overview of you and your business, find out exactly what kind of site you want, and just what you would want the site to do for you.
We'll tell you about the structure of a website, and how it works. We'll explain about how each individual page is built. We'll tell you what we need from you.
Once we've done that, and you are happy for us to start work on your website, we'll take some money from you. Probably around 50% of the total bill. This covers the costs involved in getting your domain name registered, and the webspace booked for your site. Because we have to spend this money, you won't be able to get it back if you change your mind after this point!
We will then go and organise a couple of basic designs for you to choose from. While we are doing this, we would expect you to be organising the site content - ie what you want to say about yourself and your services. And if you are looking for images to be added, we'll be needing them too.
We'll have organised your domain name and booked your webspace by the next time we see you, and the chances are that you'll be able to see a page that tells you your website will be arriving soon.
Once you have agreed the look of your site, you can give us all the information you have gathered together, and we can really get to work. We'll collate your information, get it structured onto pages, get your pictures added, and then e-mail you, on the e-mail address we'll have already set up for you.
You'll be wanting to check over your site by this time. So we'll get you in to have a look. If there are any changes to be made you can let us know, and we'll get it sorted. Once you are entirely happy with how the site looks - we'll be taking some more money from you. The entire balance, to be precise! Then, we can upload your site (we'll even show you how if you want) and by the time you get home, it'll be 'live', and running.
Obviously, over the next few weeks, there will be some 'tweaks' required. Just let us know, and they'll be done. If you are going to make regular changes - like swapping over pictures etc, we can discuss our full maintenance package.
And that's it! Your website will be there for all to see, for the next one or two years, depending on which package you have chosen.
